1. Definitions

• "Sightline", "we", "our", "us" refers to the Sightline application and its operators.
• "Service" refers to the Sightline budgeting and expense tracking application.
• "User", "you", "your" refers to any person who creates an account or uses the Service.
• "Workspace" refers to a collaborative space where projects and expenses are managed.
• "Content" refers to any data, text, images, or files you upload to the Service.

2. Account Registration

To use Sightline, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Sightline only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not:

• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's integrity
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Use the Service to infringe on intellectual property rights
• Share your account credentials with others

4. Subscription & Billing

Sightline offers subscription-based access with the following terms:

• Free trial: New users receive a 30-day free trial period
• Pricing: Current pricing is R200/month or R1,999/year (save 17%)
• Payment: Subscriptions are billed in South African Rand (ZAR)
• Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to Sightline. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and process your content to provide the Service
• Display your content to authorized workspace members
• Create backups and maintain the integrity of the Service

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.

6. Intellectual Property

The Sightline application, including its design, features, code, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our software
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Use our trademarks without written permission
• Create derivative works based on our Service

7. Privacy & Data Protection

Your use of Sightline is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) of South Africa.

Key commitments include:

• Administrative access to customer data is role-restricted, logged, and audited
• All data exports by authorized personnel are logged with reasons, timestamps, and scope
• We do not sell or monetize individual customers' personal information or transaction-level financial data
• We implement appropriate security safeguards including access controls, encryption, and audit logging

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

• Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Suspend access to protect the integrity of the Service

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:

• Sightline is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not responsible for decisions you make based on data in the app

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sightline and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service:

• Immediately if you violate these terms
• With notice if we discontinue the Service
• If your subscription payment fails

You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, you may request deletion of your personal data as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
